Gilles Peterson is set to launch a new UK festival called Way Out Here this summer, which will showcase some of biggest talents from jazz to electronic music. Check out the video below.

The Cambridgeshire event, which takes its name from Peterson’s acclaimed compilation album, will be held from August 15-18.

According to a press release, the festival will build on the essence of the Brownswood-released record, with the aim of “representing an exciting vanguard of talent”.

Though there hasn’t been any artist announcement, it has been suggested that acts who featured on the LP – such as Shabaka Hutchings, Moses Boyd, and Kokoroko – could appear on the bill, alongside those who have released material via Brownswood.

Speaking of his new venture into the festival industry, Gilles Peterson said: “I really wanted to bring to the UK a festival that celebrates the elements of UK club culture, and the community that surrounds it, that I have been lucky enough to be a part of over the years.

“What’s amazing about the scene here is that there’s so much legacy as well as so much future. It really is about bringing all that together on one amazing site.”

The weekender from Peterson, Worldwide FM and Brownswood promises to cater for “music lovers, clubbers and families alike” and will also offer a range of world food and drink, wellbeing activities, discussion and discovery sessions, along with family activities.

Line-up news for Way Out Here will arrive on February 6, along with confirmation of an exact location. For more information visit the official website.
